InfoMartina Franca is a smart town settled 431 metres above sea level, lying over one of the last southern hills in the south-east of the Murgia area. It overlooks the charming Valle d’Itria, a beautiful region with trees and white houses called “trulli”.
Besides a fascinating landscape, marked by the ancient “casedde”, the famous “trulli” and the typical local farms called “masserie”, Martina Franca is surrounded by a Karst territory, rich in suggestive caves.
Martina Franca old town centre is very suggestive has a singular artistic beauty. It appears in a scenographic maze of streets and lovely lanes.
Here the Baroque art reigns everywhere: in rich luxury palaces with wonderful wrought iron balconies; in lovely and ancient churches and in peculiar wide stretches. Passing through the ancient doors that bring you to the old town centre, you can see the stately circular towers and some squared ones that you can hardly see inside the walls.
The weather in Apulia in May is quite warm (around 22-25° C) during the daily hours, and cooler in the evening.

All Conference events will be informal.
As a suggestion, please bring mid-light dresses for the congress, heavier dresses for the evening, and possibly umbrella or raincoat in case of rain.
